Podcast: Google Shuts Down Stadia Cloud Development, PS5s Sold at a Loss

Major, possibly even catastrophic ™, technical issues made it so last week’s episode of “Salient Points” disappeared into the ether, but we return this week with news of Google shutting down first-party game development for Stadia and we delve into what that means for the future of cloud-based gaming.

Dalan and I welcomed in We Got Comms contributors — possible podcast regulars? — Luis Mendez and Jeremy Lowe in to talk up Hitman 3, The Medium, Pistol Whip, and Rocket League‘s week-long football mode in the run up to the Super Bowl this Sunday. We also talk about the Switch out-selling 3DS’s lifetime sales, Activision pushing Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2 out of 2021, GoldenEye 007‘s ill-fated Xbox 360 version, Mass Effect: Legendary Edition‘s upcoming release, and more.

Other games featured: Ocean’s Heart, God of War, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, MLB The Show, Super Mario 3D World, Resident Evil: Village.
