“Release the hounds!”
Is what I imagine Rocksteady Studios — or publisher WB Games, more likely — is saying as they loosen NDA restrictions after poor media coverage for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
Alpha testers are now allowed to give their opinions on what they’ve played so far to potentially get the hype train rolling.
And while I wouldn’t put it on too high a pedestal — as Luis did when he called it his most anticipated game of 2024 — my interest is piqued, nonetheless.
Why?
After having just game tape solved Gotham Knights (from WB Games Montreal) with Dalan, I…sort of believe Rocksteady can take it up a notch given the resources provided by WB.

No, it wasn’t a great game. But considering the production values and effort put in for a decent online co-op experience and Suicide Squad following a similar strategy? I’m down to give it a shot.
Especially taking into account how maligned Gotham Knights was — and, at launch, probably deservedly so — there was still a sense that the WB-published title was giving it an earnest effort.
It’s also a little weird whenever the media hive mind seems to beat down on a game across the board and rally against it…because live service? It’s like their trying to will a game to fail based on “principles.”
The last one they tried it against was Hogwarts Legacy and that went on to be the best-selling game of 2023. Even beating stalwarts like Call of Duty for the first time in years.
We’ll see if they succeed this time.
And, hey. They might even be right regarding the yucky live service aspect, but I’ll still give Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League a fair shake when it drops February 2nd.
